The Light House

Highlights Rural Touring Scheme brings ‘The Light House,’ to the Parish Hall,Dovecote St. on Friday, 1st May.

Love is a complicated business. It gets even more complicated when the person you love doesn’t want to be alive.

Tender, funny and defiantly hopeful, The Light House is a real-life story of falling in love and staying in love, even when the lights go out and you’re lost in the dark.

With puppetry, clowning and audience participation, The Light House is the highly acclaimed debut play from Alys Williams.

Writer and performer Alys said, “Theatre right now needs to buzz with liveness”. I want audiences to feel seen, and implicated, and held.

A man came to ‘The Light House’ alone and sat at the back. I chose him to play ‘Dad’.Afterwards, he said that he usually hates participation but had found himself hoping to be chosen because he wanted ‘to help, somehow.’ He said it had been ‘an honour.’”

We have a bar, a raffle and accept cash or cards.Tickets cost £15 or £10 for under 25s. They are available from N & F Young, 8 Queen Street, phone 07724687107, on the door and online at www.highlightsnorth.co.uk
